Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Here is my abstract feature mural wall at the restaurant entrance based on the poem Twinkle Twinkle Little Star which was written by Jane Taylor in Colchester in the early 19th Century , local history art with a twist this interior mural incorporates a huge portrait of the poet plucking a star from the sky ‘up above the World so high’ and a huge pink moon. The astrology wheel with misbehaving star sign characters adds a fun and playful aspect to the piece and neon lights illuminated on top.

Auction House Mural

This restaurant was refurbished from a historical auction house that was a buzzing attraction in Colchester and so the abstract and fun mural spanning the upstairs wall features vintage treasures and objects flying in the excitement of the bidding process! the font reads GOING GOING GONE with a star background linking to the artwork downstairs.

Behind The Scenes

Here are some snapshots of our enjoyable time in Colchester painting the main feature wall which took 2 days to complete, myself and Khan mapped out the large vibrant shapes, rainbow and starry night back drop before illustrating the finer details of the poet Jane Taylor and the 12 star sign characters, we worked from a tower scaffold to help us reach the highest parts of this large mural painting wall.
